Room Temperature Curing Silicone Coating
Room temperature curing silicone resin, a translucent liquid that cures into a transparent, elastic resin coating. This resin uses toluene as a solvent, achieves surface drying at room temperature within 5 minutes, and after full curing, exhibits the flexibility of rubber along with the smooth, transparent surface of resin. It offers excellent moisture resistance, mold resistance, and salt spray resistance, capable of withstanding harsh environmental influences and enhancing mechanical properties (e.g., by enabling components to adhere to substrates through coating, increasing impact and vibration resistance). It also prevents issues such as reduced insulation resistance or even short circuits between circuit board conductors caused by sudden temperature changes and "condensation fog" in the air, effectively improving product reliability. This resin is easy to use, requires no additional curing agent during application, and can be applied using various coating processes directly.
Features: Excellent wear resistance. Curing process can be accelerated with slight heating to shorten curing time. Resistant to moisture and other harsh environments. Good dielectric properties. Forms a firm, dry surface after curing, easy to handle, medium viscosity.
Technical Specifications
Appearance Pale yellow transparent
Viscosity (25℃) 1mPa.s 600-900
Solid Content % 70±2
Surface Drying Time at Room Temperature 2min <5
Hardness After Curing Shore A 80
Typical Applications
Used as wear-resistant protective coating for solar cells and components, repair of scratches, cuts, or wear on components, and as a three-proof coating for PCB boards. Provides wear resistance, shock resistance, mold resistance, insulation, moisture resistance, leakage prevention, dust resistance, corrosion resistance, anti-aging, etc.
Usage Method: It is a one-component system and can be applied by spraying, brushing, flow coating, dipping, or automated methods. Toluene solvent can be added as needed to adjust the solid content and viscosity of the resin to control the film thickness.
Curing time can be shortened by heating. Increased film thickness requires appropriately extended curing time.
Packaging and Storage: The silicone resin is provided in 1kg, 5kg, or 25kg pails. When stored in the original unopened container at room temperature, the resin has a shelf life of 6 months from the date of production. If the shelf life is exceeded, a small trial can be conducted to determine whether it cures normally as a basis for deciding whether to continue use. However, the company is not responsible for the results of using expired products. The shelf life (use by date) is indicated on the product label.
Precautions: 1. During the use and processing of silicone resin, flammable and explosive solvents may volatilize. Ensure adequate ventilation in the operating area, take fire prevention measures, and strictly eliminate ignition sources. 2. All equipment and tools used in the processing of silicone resin must be clean, and strict measures should be taken to prevent the mixing or introduction of dust and foreign matter, as this may reduce the electrical insulation performance of the product. 3. Compounds such as acids, alkalis, organic salts, and amines can accelerate the curing of silicone resin and affect heat resistance and electrical properties. Therefore, silicone resin must be strictly isolated from these substances. 4. Special attention should be paid to preventing the resin from contacting moisture. Containers should be kept sealed, and the headspace or gas space should be minimized as much as possible. Partially filled containers should be purged with dry air or other gases (e.g., nitrogen) for dehumidification.
